Level before slides

Run the slides out only once the rig is level. Slide mechanisms are built for a level, supported body – extending them on a twisted frame can make them bind.

Why check the power pedestal?

Campground pedestals are sometimes miswired, or sag to low voltage on busy weekends, which can damage air conditioners and electronics. A surge protector catches both before they reach your rig.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a water pressure regulator?
At most campgrounds, yes. Pressure varies a lot, and RV plumbing is usually meant for roughly 40–60 psi – check your manual.
Should I leave the black tank valve open at a full-hookup site?
No. Keep it closed until the tank is mostly full, then dump. With the valve open, liquids drain away and solids build up.
